Someone took my fudging plates. Grr.

Today’s adventure? Elliott goes to the DMV.” So, have any of you seen this license plate? Yeah, it’s gone missing from my car. Let me explain. I woke up this morning and was on my way to class. I looked back lovingly on my car that treats me so well, despite my continual efforts to mess it up. In fact, just yesterday I poured windshield washer fluid into the radiator reserve tank, but that’s a story for another day.So, anywho, I was passing in front of my car when I noticed that it looked surprisingly naked. It took me a second, but I realized that my front license plate was missing. What’s more, my 1994 German temporary plate was gone as well. I mean, really, who would take that?

I got back from class and decided to report it missing with the cops. After all, who wants someone else masquerading as yourself, committing all sorts of crimes? Not I. They told me to take the back plate off as well. Why? Well, it was reported stolen. Should a cop run a check on me, it would be a gun-point stop. Not high on my list of things to have happen to me.

I went to remove the plate and broke my screwdriver’s bit. The left screw wouldn’t budge, and the head was completely shorn. So, the plate is dangling on one side. I covered it with duct tape so as to hide the numbers (out of fear of The Man). Looking like a complete good for nothing/red-neck, I drove cautiously to the DMV. I would generally choose death over going to the Department, but I had to go.

Within seconds of me walking in the door, I got chewed out. I hadn’t filled out a form, you see. So, I took the form, filled it out, and noticed that the title-holder needed to sign it. The title-holder is not I, and happens to live quite a ways away. So, I’m stuck with an illegal car for a few days now.

If anyone sees this plate, let me know. My car was sad today. Hopefully I can make it happy soon. So, my story isn’t too exciting. Just wanted to let you know that I kept busy today.
